HRH the Prince of Wales launches his
Accounting for Sustainability Initiative
to develop systems to help organizations to measure
more effectively the environmental and social costs of their
actions. He said, "There was a time when we could say that there was
either a complete lack of knowledge, or at least room for doubt,
about the consequences for our planet of our actions. That time has
gone. We now know all too clearly what we are actually doing and that
we need to do something about it urgently. Better accounting must be
part of that process."

In conjunction with UC Berkeley, ECG will build an Environmental
Technology Experts Center ("ETEC") for investors and others interested in
connecting with technology experts. ETEC will be an online database
that helps investors quickly and easily identify qualified faculty with
expertise in environmental technologies. Phase 1 will include
engineering and other key faculty from UC Berkeley and is scheduled for launch
in the fall of 2006. Future plans are to expand to include faculty from Stanford, UC Davis, MIT and other top universities.
Led by CalPERS under the
AIM Environmental Technology Program,
ECG is proud to be providing this resource free to the investment community.
ECG is committed to helping clean technology investors get the highest return on the time they put into verifying the environmental impact of their
investments.
ETEC will dramatically streamline the process of validating the environmental benefits created under
CalPERS' Environmental Technology Investment Program,
saving general partners' time while increasing the credibility of analysis results.
