Harold Robinson, Managing Director,
has more than 34 years entrepreneurial experience and specializes in environmental start-ups and
law. Harold is ECG's legal expert and leads in partner and investment strategies and deal structure.
Before joining ECG, he was a founding board member and investor in California Energy Company ("Cal Energy") where,
as COO, he helped take it public and completed a $700MM+ investment in the development of a geothermal
field and related electric power plants for sale to Southern California Edison.
Before Cal Energy, Harold practiced law with Brobeck, Phlegher & Harrison ("BPH"), attorneys at law in
San Francisco, California, where he was a
recognized expert in pension and profit sharing matters. While at BPH, he co-founded his first company, Certified Plans Incorporated, which merged
into Automated Data Processing Company ("ADP").
Since retiring from Cal Energy, Harold has continued to make investments in and
manage early stage environmental opportunities, including, among others, U. S. Electricar
and ZAP Electric Vehicles. In 1990 he co-founded the North Bay Angels.
This California Bay Area group of approximately 100 angel investors make equity investments in early stage technology
companies.
Mr. Robinson has a BA in Chemistry from University of Pacific, Stockton, California, a LLB from
Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco, California, and LLM (Taxation) New York University
of Law, New York, New York. He is an inactive member of the California Bar and past California
Bar Certified Specialist in Taxation. Mr. Robinson has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
He lives in Squaw Valley, California.
